A Glimpse into the History of Ballet

Ballet is a classical dance form that originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century. It later flourished in France during the reign of King Louis XIV, who was an enthusiastic dancer himself. The word “ballet” actually comes from the Italian “balletto,” meaning “a little dance.”

From royal courts, ballet evolved into a professional art form, blending music, storytelling, and precise body movement. By the 19th century, it became a global symbol of grace and discipline, with styles emerging from Russia, France, and England that shaped the modern ballet we know today.

Today, ballet is not just an art ..  It’s a foundation for many dance forms, promoting strength, flexibility, poise, and self-expression.
